Nominations Announced for the 95th Academy Awards

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences today unveiled the nominees for the 95th Academy Awards, celebrating the cinematic achievements of 2022. The nominations were presented by actors Riz Ahmed and Allison Williams, highlighting a diverse range of films from major studio productions to independent features.
Everything Everywhere All at Once received the highest number of nominations, with 11 total. All Quiet on the Western Front and The Banshees of Inisherin followed closely with 9 nominations each.
Best Picture Nominees
The ten films nominated for Best Picture are:
All Quiet on the Western Front: A German anti-war film directed by Edward Berger, based on the 1929 novel by Erich Maria Remarque.
Avatar: The Way of Water: James Cameron's science fiction sequel, returning to the world of Pandora and focusing on the Sully family.
The Banshees of Inisherin: A black comedy-drama directed by Martin McDonagh, set on a remote Irish island during the Irish Civil War, exploring the abrupt end of a lifelong friendship.
Elvis: A biographical musical drama directed by Baz Luhrmann, chronicling the life and career of rock and roll icon Elvis Presley.
Everything Everywhere All at Once: A genre-bending action-comedy directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, featuring a laundromat owner who discovers she can access parallel universes.
The Fabelmans: Steven Spielberg's semi-autobiographical coming-of-age drama, loosely based on his own adolescence and early filmmaking experiences.
Tár: A psychological drama directed by Todd Field, starring Cate Blanchett as a renowned and complex classical music conductor.
Top Gun: Maverick: An action-packed sequel to the 1986 film, directed by Joseph Kosinski, bringing Tom Cruise back as Maverick, training a new squad of elite pilots.
Triangle of Sadness: A satirical black comedy directed by Ruben Östlund, exploring class and societal roles on a luxury cruise.
